NEW APPROACH TO ESTIMATING THE CRITICAL PRESSURES OF N-ALKANES < C21 BY GROUP CONTRIBUTION

Abstract

A Group Contribution Equation (GCE) was developed in this study that correlates, with good accuracy, the critical pressures (Pc) of n-alkanes. The equation was tested without the compressibility factor (Zb), and error in estimated Pc was generally below 20%. The input of Zb reduces the error to below 10%. The deviations lie around 5% for majority of the n-alkanes
